Health Care Solutions Overview

The cause of health equity is deeply personal for me. When I applied to law school, I fully intended to practice at the intersection of healthcare and civil rights. Although my career has taken some unexpected twists and turns since then, I continue to work toward a world where every individual has access to the care they need.

My experience

My passion for this work largely stems from the following experiences:

  • Being born with multiple rare conditions and complications.
  • Fighting for custody of my daughter while she was battling cancer because hospital staff refused to believe that blind people can successfully raise a child.
  • Coordinating logistics for multiple loved ones while they received care outside of their local area.
  • Personally observing instances where individuals with disabilities were illegally denied access to accommodations within a medical setting.
  • Collaborating with medical providers and other professionals who genuinely wanted to do the right thing, and simply needed a little guidance to get there.
